New Orleans Third Day - Boat Ride and Day Shots

PHOTOS TAKEN 03-19-24.

When my husband said I could tag along on his work trip to New Orleans, I was filled with excitement and immediately started planning where I could take photos. I was in New Orleans before Katrina when I was 20. I was touring with my band, and we were able to walk up and down bourbon street with some strippers who came to our show and let us crash at their place for the night. Needless to say, I didn’t get the full NOLA experience back then. I made it a point to make sure we really got to soak up the city and everything we could experience. I tried to capture the creepy vibes and all the colorful buildings and graffiti. All of the amazing architecture, food, culture, etc.

Day 3 (Steam Boat Tour, Chalmette Battlefield Day Shots) - When we got to the hotel, there were a lot of pamphlets on different activities to do around the city. One of them was this boat ride which stopped at Chalmette Battlefield briefly. It was a nice day, in fact, a little bit chilly! The boat ride was smooth, and was very peaceful. I definitely got some great shots of big ships and the domino sugar factory along the way. Chalmette battlefield had a lot of old trees covered with Spanish Moss that were gorgeous. I also got a chance to take two of my favorite photos from the trip of the street performers on St Peters and by the river at Jackson Square. This was definitely a very cool day for taking photos!
