New Orleans First Day

When my husband said I could tag along on his work trip to New Orleans, I was filled with excitement and immediately started planning where I could take photos. I was in New Orleans before Katrina when I was 20. I was touring with my band, and we were able to walk up and down bourbon street with some strippers who came to our show and let us crash at their place for the night. Needless to say, I didn’t get the full NOLA experience back then. I made it a point to make sure we really got to soak up the city and everything we could experience. I tried to capture the creepy vibes and all the colorful buildings and graffiti. All of the amazing architecture, food, culture, etc.

Day 1 - I was getting my footing and figuring out the best settings. I experimented with different angles and compositions. There was so much to see with so much photographic potential. I tried to capture the local businesses, street performers, statues and overall feel of the city during this day.
